Brain Injury and VT
A Brain Injury can occur in a second. It could be due to a stroke or brain tumor (Aquired Brain Injury) or due to a motor vehicle accident, a fall or a head injuries (Traumatic Brain Injury). School sports injuries can bring on a concussion, which is a brain injury. Concussions can have a cumulative effect, and several concussions can lead to major difficulties. Often what appears to be relatively minor or not obvious, can actually cause severe problems.
Vision can be compromised as a result of neurological disorders or trauma to the nervous system. Vision Therapy can effectively treat the visual consequences of brain trauma (including double vision). Once the vision problem is addressed, often other therapies, such as occupational therapy or physical therapy can be considerably more effective.
