What is Vision ?
Vision is the sense that we use to bring in the most amount of information from the world around us.
Vision enables us to derive meaning and to direct action.
Vision allows us to gather the most amount of information in the fastest way.
It enables us to bring information into our brain in order to understand what we are reading, be it in school or in the workplace.
It is the way the lets us know if we are in danger, or if, for example a ball or other object is coming at us. It tells us if the car that is passing is too close.
Vision allows us to position our hands in order to catch a ball or to grasp a fork and knife. It is the most important of our various (five +) senses. It is crucial throughout childhood and beyond.
It is important for parents to understand how vision facilitates a child's abilty to develop appropriately.
