Vision Insurance

It is important to understand Medical Insurance and Vision "Insurance".  It can be very confusing.

Medical insurance covers medical eye problems.  Examples of that are: glaucoma, cataract, eye allergy, a piece of metal in the eye.  It also covers body diseases that affect the eye, for example, diabetes, high blood pressure, Lyme disease, Herpes, etc.  Some medical plans also provide for an annual eye examination.  Each plan is different.

Vision "Insurance" is not true insurance but rather it is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.  Each plan is different.
